Leadership St Pete

The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce (SPACC) and the Leadership St. Pete Alumni Association (LSPAA) recognized a need for a strong, viable Leadership St. Pete (LSP) Program and agreed to work together to reach this goal. An Executive Committee (EC) was formed and a Planning Committee selected.

The LSP Class of 2012 has been selected and was formally introduced at the LSPAA Holiday Social on December 6, 2011. They begin their year in January 2012 with graduation in June. You can read more about the new class on the SPACC website at http://leadership.stpete.com.

As the second-oldest leadership program in America, Leadership St. Pete (LSP) is a dynamic, intensive, interactive, six-month experience designed to promote and enhance community leadership through an in-depth introduction to social, economic, business and political issues in the St. Petersburg area.

LSP class members interact with diverse, high-level community leaders and decision-makers by organizing and attending a series of seminars and retreats in fields ranging from business, government, education, media, social services, criminal justice, diversity, the arts and more. Through these interactions, members learn about their personal leadership styles, nourish their community spirit and gain an invaluable understanding of how our community works.

The bonds forged among the members of each LSP class are deep and long-lasting, offering both personal and professional benefits. Whether you are new to the area or just want to learn more about the important issues facing the community in which you live, LSP is an excellent investment of your time and talents.

Among the features of LSP are the exceptional speakers that share their knowledge and experience with LSP. Your opportunity to learn from these community leaders and decision-makers is a very special feature of the LSP experience. Among those leaders you will meet include leaders from all branches of state government during the two-day government seminar in Tallahassee. This is a powerful opportunity to meet face-to-face with the men and women whose decisions affect every aspect of our personal, public and professional lives on a daily basis.
