LSP Inspired My St. Petersburg Future

By Christina Noordstar, LSP ’19

Leadership St. Pete left a mark on me in more ways than one. When I look back at my class year, I see two big ways it changed the course of my future here in St. Petersburg: community and business.

Building Community Through Giving

After graduating, I was inspired to keep learning about nonprofits and the impact they have in our city. That inspiration led me to launch 100 Women Who Care St. Petersburg—a collective giving group where 100 women each give $100, three nonprofits pitch, and one walks away with a $10,000 award. We do this four times a year. Since 2000, we’ve raised and awarded over $400,000 to local nonprofits. It’s been powerful to see what happens when women come together with one simple, consistent goal: supporting our community.

Building a Business With Classmates

LSP also gave me the confidence—and the connections—to grow in business. In August 2025, I partnered with my classmate Sharon Mahoney (LSP ’19) to open Savoir on Central, a wine membership and education club at 2531 Central Avenue. We offer weekly classes, curated wine club subscriptions, and host private events. The response has been incredible—our classes are selling out, our memberships are filling quickly, and the space is buzzing with energy.

Staying Connected to Our Class Project

Another part of my LSP journey has been returning to our class project at Academy Prep St. Petersburg. We built a garden there, and six years later, I’m still mentoring weekly—often meeting with my mentees in that very garden. Two of my mentees have graduated and moved on to Admiral Farragut, and I currently mentor two 8th graders. I’ve also had the honor of serving as a Board of Trustee at Academy Prep. Watching students grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life since LSP.

Gratitude and What’s Next

Today, I am a Commercial Real Estate Developer and enjoy business development projects through Noordstar Development LLC. Alongside that, I’m pouring my energy into Savoir on Central, where Sharon and I are building something fresh for St. Pete—a place to learn, connect, and celebrate wine. Outside of work, you’ll often find me traveling or training for marathons (yes, I race them, too!).

Most of all, I carry deep gratitude—for the friendships I’ve kept since graduation, for the awareness LSP gave me of my city’s needs, and for the confidence to lead in ways I never expected.

What’s next? Continuing to grow Savoir on Central, expanding awareness of this new concept, and raising a glass with fellow alumni at the LSPAA Fall Social in October. Hope to see you there!
