Alumni Spotlight: Kim Vogel (LSP ’22)

Building economic mobility from every angle—skills, capital, and founder support

When Kim Vogel finished Leadership St. Pete in 2022, she made a promise to herself: slow down, get clear, and do work that expands opportunity. Today, she’s delivering on that promise across three connected lanes—helping people gain skills, helping capital stay local, and helping founders get the support they need.

“I gifted myself time, space, and grace—and got clear on what mattered. I’m building economic opportunity from every angle because everyone deserves multiple pathways to success.”

One mission. Three levers.

Tampa Bay Apprentice Network (Tampa Bay Tech) — Program Manager
Creating bridges to skilled careers with real wages and real mobility.

Coastal Community Fund — Founder & Partner
Democratizing wealth-building so wins recirculate locally and fuel the next generation of Tampa Bay startups.

Venture Point — Ecosystem Builder
Streamlining the regional entrepreneur support system so founders can quickly access mentorship, capital, and strategy.

“Different tools, same mission: remove barriers so talent can thrive—no matter where someone starts.”

How Coastal Community Fund is different

Authenticity over everything. The fund is a deliberate response to trust gaps in the industry.

  • Radical transparency: No black boxes. Significant decisions go through an advisory board, and investors get honest updates on wins and challenges.
  • Community-first capital: A $5M fund designed to keep 100% of capital and returns in Tampa Bay, seeding the next wave of Florida startups.
  • True partnership: Not looking for silent checks—seeking engaged partners who help shape the thesis and advise portfolio companies.

Why $5M?
It’s sized for meaningful investments and measurable community impact—big enough to matter, focused enough to remain personal and transparent.

LSP roots that still run deep

Kim recently revisited her class project—and felt proud of the lasting impact. Collaboration with fellow alumni powers her current work, too:

  • Venture Point with Esther Sanni (LSP ’21)
  • Coastal Community Fund with Ashby Green (LSP ’16)

What’s next

Keep aligning purpose with passion—and team up with authentic, ethical, passionate people.” Expect more connective tissue across employers, founders, and funders—with equity and access at the center.

Outside the office

Reading. Yoga. Paddleboarding. The reset that keeps the mission moving.
