Thank you Lindsay.

What was your Leadership St. Pete® Class Project? What’s the current status of your Leadership St. Pete® Class Project?

Our Class Project was Boys & Girls Club at the historic Royal Theater in the Deuces Live district. We did all the usual Class Project repairs, some landscaping, installation of shelving, and repainting both the interior and exterior. We also raised money to install new fencing and an electric gate around the property, which was particularly transformational for the children that use this facility. Prior to its installation, the space outside the Royal Theater Boys & Girls Club was deemed unsafe for the children to play due to the proximity to the road with no physical separation. Because of this, they were only able to play outside by taking official field trips to a local park, which required logistics to be planned such as permission slips and transportation. But after the installation of the fence, the Boys & Girls Club was able to apply for and receive grants to fund the purchase of playground equipment to further activate this outdoor space. Our class also raised money to hire professionals to rewire the electricity and restore the marquee, which allowed the Boys & Girls Club to apply for and receive grants to fund the creation of a commercial kitchen.

What is your favorite underrated spot in St. Pete?

Jake, my husband, and I love to take our dogs to the waterfront on the weekends to play, sit along the water, and enjoy our beautiful city! When we are looking to celebrate something special, we go to Beau & Mo's Italian Steakhouse for a great steak. And for an everyday treat, the Wooden Rooster makes excellent crepes! My go-to is the Skinny Goat with goat cheese, egg whites, and spinach. I might have to go get one today...
